2021.09.23 16:52 interestinglyone Caution rabbit hole ahead.
Just looking for other peoples opinions on my experiences, as so far I’m yet to see a point to them.
December 2010. Using Google Chrome on a laptop, after spending approximately 10 minutes circling with my mouse curser on different pages abnormalities such as a flicker in an icon. A tab (not a window) pops down below the website address bar stating in text “Congratulations Your The First Person To Join All The Dots”. End of occurrence.
2012 to 2015. Whilst using a Samsung c3222 chat mobile phone. The phone could without a doubt read my mind in the following way. When I wanted a yes or no answer to a question I would think of a question and simply look at my bars of reception as they would go up for yes and down for no, instantaneously. But it would lie at times deeming it useless. Doesn’t work on iPhone 4s, 5c or x.
2011 to Present. Again this lies so basically useless besides giving the impression it’s possible that I’m not always alone unless it’s just an advancement my brain has developed, but given the two previously mentioned occurrences the odds I believe are with a third / second party.
When I want a yes or no answer to a question i think of the question then feel a pulse in my body. Left side for no, right for yes or 1 pulse for yes and 2 for no.
I believe any one of these occurrences on their own is no biggie but when you put the three together I’m thinking yeah okay that’s definitely different.
Do you think interplanetary involvement? Even though I think it’s plausible aliens walk the earth.
Do you think just our governments could be involved?
I think both options are plausible after all the world is so corrupt, just looking for opinions.
Let me know if you can get the pulse to work, let’s start something.

2021.09.23 16:52 Torik61 How am I supposed to sharpen an Opinel?
I just got my first Opinel, an no4 Carbone, today. I noticed that the knife hasn't got a clear cutting edge like my other double v or tanto knifes. Then I checked out some Opinel pic and couldn't see a cutting edge there too. Are the knives convex grind?
How am I supposed to sharpen these knives? I'm really scared about it. I normally sharpen all my kitchen and edc knives by hand with a 1200 grit Japanese water stone.

2021.09.23 16:52 SparkyBikes 1/2 Pex for our commercial utility sink = too high of flow
We recently updated our sink to a commercial-grade sink with a faucet with a sprayer. It has a 1/2" line for both cold & hot (the tank is nearby). But the pressure seems so high that it's great for filling buckets but the sprayer (non-adjustable) just makes a ton of mess.
Is installing a water regulator on each line or reducing the 1/2" PEX to 3/8" solve our issue?

My dermatologist just prescribed me a topical steroid. Failed to ask this question before leaving the office, but how long does it take to absorb into the skin?
I’m applying it to areas on my hand and since I constantly wash my hands due to COVID, I’m concerned I’m washing the ointment off.

2021.09.23 16:52 Kyouma118 How do I deploy a TURN server for WebRTC apps on heroku?
I'm a student using heroku free servers to test an app. Currently I'm testing a WebRTC application that's giving errors on remote network connections, so I want to set up a TURN relay server on heroku for the time being, but have no idea how to do so.
I've tried node-turn in a node.js server, tried to execute pion/turn binaries directly so far but with no luck. `node-turn` works if I run locally and test it with my public ip address but the same doesn't work on heroku.
What's the standard way to spin up a TURN server on heroku?

2021.09.23 16:52 veganmark This outstanding video explains the results of the huge Banglesh masking study, the most important controlled study assessing the impact of mask-wearing on COVID transmission
The bottom line is that cloth masks were associated with a 3% reduction in infection risk - not statistically significant - and surgical masks with an 11% reduction in risk in those wearing surgical masks. Curiously, those advised to wear masks tending to increase adherence to social distancing - opposite to what some had predicted; this might contribute to the modest favorable trends associated with mask wearing. Only about half of the people asked to mask were judged to have worn their masks properly - so the trend to protection could have been a bit higher if all subjects had been fully compliant.
The only other controlled study of mask wearing for COVID protection that I am aware of was a Danish study in which people were randomized to wear masks or not. A 7% reduction in risk for infection was noted in the mask wearers, which was not statistically significant. This study was criticized because it could only determine whether masking protected the wearer - it did not determine whether infected people wearing masks would be less likely to spread infection. The Bangladesh study did not have this defect, as entire cities were recruited to wear masks, rather than individuals within a city.
The bottom line is that SURGICAL masks worn properly may confer a modest level of protection - the 11% protection observed in this study might be a bit higher in individuals taking care to wear these masks optimally. Whereas cloth mask appear to be virtually useless.
The fact that these findings aren't widely known demonstrates that "The Science" has little if anything to do with the mandates imposed by our virtue-signaling political class.
